Do not worry, they were not there because we started a fire.

Instead, Assistant Fire Chief Robert Richie spoke to the club on Thursday, August 1 about the training and deployment of fire fighters as rapid response teams.

As Gallatin grows, so has the fire department. Just a few short years ago, they had three stations located throughout the city — now they are up to five strategically placed locations.

Asst. Chief Richie began his fire service career with Gallatin Fire Department in 1993 and has advanced through the ranks serving in several capacities.

Prior to joining GFD, Asst. Chief Richie gained fire service experience with several volunteer departments in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Asst. Chief Richie has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Science from Eastern Kentucky University, a Master in Public Administration from Tennessee State University, and he is a Tennessee licensed Advanced EMT.

He is married to his wife, Kandi, through whom he has four step children.

We were thankful to hear his presentation.

The Gallatin Rotary Club meets at noon almost every Thursday at The Gathering Place located at 450 W Main St ste b1. We would love for you to join us and share in hearing the quality speakers we have and the good work we do for the community of Gallatin.
