Jerry Davis was inducted into the Gallatin Rotary club in April.

President Bill Sorrells tried to induct him again last week, which would likely be the first time anyone has been inducted twice. It turned out the package new inductees receive was not ready for Jerry when he was inducted, but he received it last week.

We are happy to have him.

“My wife and my family moved here about four years ago,” said the native of New Mexico. “God gives us more reasons every week to love Gallatin.”

Davis’s family is his wife, Brandi, and his two children: Tyler, 14, and Audrey, 11.

They made the move to Gallatin so he could be on the staff at Long Hollow Baptist Church.

“I was a student pastor at our Gallatin campus for three years, and a year ago I became the campus pastor.

“I love Jesus, I love my wife, I love my family, and I love the church,” Davis said. “That’s what I want my life to represent.”

Davis said Rotary is a new experience for him.

“I had not known anyone in Rotary until Dale (Hardiman),” he said. “But, I do have a tie to Rotary because my grandad – when he was a kid – had polio. And so one of the first things when I came (to Rotary meetings) with Dale and heard about all the things Rotary has done for polio, that’s a significant thing in my life so I’m excited about being a part of it.

“I’m excited to be a part of Rotary and be used in a different way (by God), and I think this is going to be fun.”

Please be sure to introduce yourself to Jerry if you have not met him. He is a valuable addition to our club.
